Happy birthday?

Well, birthdays are merely symbolic of how another year has gone by andhow little we've grown. No matter how desperate we are that someday a better self will emerge, with each flicker of the candles on the cake, we know it's not to be, that for the rest of our sad, wretched pathetic lives, this is who we are to the bitter end. Inevitably, irrevocably; happy birthday? No such thing.

Gender Violence

M: He gave me a wedgie.W: Why do they call it a wedgie?M: Because the underwear is pulled up from the back and ... it wedges in.. They also have an atomic wedgie. Now the goal there is to actually get the waistband on top of the head. Very rare.W: Boys are sick.M: Well what do girls do ?W: We just tease some one 'til they develop an eating disorder.

Fathers are intimidating

All fathers are intimidating. They're intimidating because they are fathers. Once a man has children, for the rest of his life, his attitude is, "To hell with the world, I can make my own people. I'll eat whatever I want. I'll wear whatever I want, and I'll create whoever I want."

Social niceties

- Hi! How are you today?
- I’m fine. I’m weird, actually. I’m disoriented, I’m not sure where I am. I mean, I know where I am, bit it feels odd being here. I’m okay.
- Okay…
- Listen to me, I’ve been out of circulation so long, I’ve completely forgotten the social niceties. I mean, you ask me how I am, I’m not really supposed to say how I am. I’m supposed to say, “I’m fine, thanks. How are you?”.
- I’m fine, thanks.
